Location Information

Since location is everything, The Chester, stands right in the pulse of the city. It offers luxury lodging in the most sophisticated and charming location: the South End —a crisscross of dining, shopping, culture, and historic sights.

Bordered by Copley Square and Newbury Street, the Public Garden and Boston Common, and the SoWa Arts District, the South End is synonymous with Boston’s high style, as well as its historic and trendy ambiance. From here, you will explore all the tourist sights, and at the end of the day, you will not have to travel far for dinner. Dine just down the street on Boston’s “restaurant row,” where you will find 40 of Boston’s hottest restaurants.

In the South End, it is possible to get away from the busy city while staying on a quaint side street right in Downtown Boston. Along beautiful cobblestone and brick streets, you will find the best dining, nightlife, chic shops, and fine art galleries offering an intersection of life, luxury, and history. The only thing that may be more attractive than the beautifully preserved Victorian architecture is the abundance of trees, greenery, and gardens scattered throughout the South End.

THE CHESTER is your gateway to the South End and the rest of Boston. Our property is centrally located, with endless attractions within walking distance allowing our guests to experience Boston from a local’s perspective.

Copley Square, Newbury Street, and the Boston Common are just minutes away on foot. Whether you are here for a conference at the Hynes Convention Center, business in the nearby financial district, or to explore the sights of America’s favorite walking city, you will find it all accessible.

We strongly suggest that guests save on the expense of a rental car as navigating and parking in Boston can be an unnecessary effort, even for those familiar with the city. Pack comfortable walking shoes and enjoy discovering the city on foot, our favorite way to explore Boston.

Should you want to ride the “T”, there are two stops close by: Massachusetts Ave station on the orange line, and The Prudential stop on the green line. Uber and Lyft are available for farther-away destinations like the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC) or Harvard University and Harvard Square.

Helpful Tips

From Logan Airport
by Taxi – Lyft – Uber

A typical ride costs about $23.00. Uber and Lyft are recommended because they use GPS to map our destination. Pick-up areas are located across access ramps in central parking. If you take a Taxi, ask the driver to take you to 507 Massachusetts Ave, Boston 02118 in the South End (our neighborhood of Boston) in the corner between Massachusetts Avenue and Tremont Street. We do recommend you tell the cab driver this. Because of zoning there is no sign for the inn; we are right next to the restaurant MIDA.

Arriving by Subway or Train
From Back Bay Station

If coming by Amtrak or subway, get off at the Massachusetts Ave station. Walk down Massachusetts Ave toward Boston Medical Center. After 4 blocks, you will find 507 Massachusetts Ave (The Chester) in the intersection of Massachusetts Ave and Tremont Street.

Parking
The Chester is centrally located, making it easy to explore without a car! If you do bring one, we suggest using The SpotHero app, or feel free to message us for some local parking tips.
